THE METHOD
Classical Pilates is a complete movement system designed to build strength, improve posture, mobility, flexibility and help you move with confidence throughout life.
BEYOND REFORMER.
BEYOND MAT.
Classical Pilates is a complete movement system designed to develop strength, control, mobility, coordination and connection throughout the body.
The Reformer and Mat are part of that system — but they are only the beginning.
ONE METHOD.
AN ENTIRE SYSTEM.
A system that brings together a repertoire of exercises performed across purpose-built apparatus.
The FUNLAYO studio includes the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, High Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Arc Barrel, High Mat and smaller apparatus.
Each has a purpose.
An exercise that feels challenging in one place may be explored differently elsewhere in the system. One piece of apparatus may provide support; another may reveal where greater strength, control or mobility is needed.
The apparatus work together. And I choose how we use them according to the person in front of me.THE SYSTEM MEETS YOU WHERE YOU ARE
Classical Pilates has an established method and repertoire, but that doesn’t mean every body needs exactly the same thing at exactly the same time.
I select exercises and apparatus according to what I see, how your body is moving and what we are working towards.
Sometimes that means support.
Sometimes it means challenge.
Often, it means both.CONNECTIONS BEGIN TO EMERGE.
As you become familiar with the work, Pilates begins to feel less like a collection of individual exercises and more like the connected system it was designed to be.
Something discovered on the Mat may transform an exercise on the Reformer.
Strength developed on the Chair may appear somewhere else.
The Barrel may help you understand a movement your body struggled to find before.
Those connections are part of the practice.
THE FUNLAYO STUDIO
Located in St Asaph, North Wales, the studio is equipped with Gratz Classical Pilates apparatus.
It is a calm, focused space created for individual teaching and thoughtful practice — somewhere you can learn, explore, be challenged and progress without the distractions of a busy group environment.PROGRESS ISN’T SIMPLY DOING MORE.
Progress may mean learning a new exercise.
But it can also mean greater control. More precision. Better coordination. Increased range. A deeper connection. Or performing an exercise you already know exceptionally well.
The aim isn’t simply to collect harder exercises.IT’S TO MOVE EXCEPTIONALLY WELL.
